PREP COOK - JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Reports to the Kitchen Manager

  • Assist in preparing food by washing and chopping vegetables, fruits, and meats

  • Can comprehend verbal/written instructions and perform efficiently and accurately

  • Ability to stand and move around for long periods of time

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with proper lifting technique

  • Ensure kitchen equipment and appliances are working and ready for use

  • Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment

  • Knowledge or ability to learn about cooking/cutting methods and techniques

  • Excels in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work under pressure and comply to deadlines 

  • Can multitask efficiently

  • Properly label and stock all ingredients on shelves, including items in need of refrigerating and freezing

  • Knowledge or ability to learn the shelf life of uncooked and cooked food items

  • Ability to properly operate all cooking equipment, appliances, and tools
