PREP COOK - JOB DESCRIPTION
Reports to the Kitchen Manager
Assist in preparing food by washing and chopping vegetables, fruits, and meats
Can comprehend verbal/written instructions and perform efficiently and accurately
Ability to stand and move around for long periods of time
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with proper lifting technique
Ensure kitchen equipment and appliances are working and ready for use
Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment
Knowledge or ability to learn about cooking/cutting methods and techniques
Excels in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work under pressure and comply to deadlines
Can multitask efficiently
Properly label and stock all ingredients on shelves, including items in need of refrigerating and freezing
Knowledge or ability to learn the shelf life of uncooked and cooked food items
Ability to properly operate all cooking equipment, appliances, and tools
