SERVER - JOB DESCRIPTION

Does not start at $15/hr like other job positions.

  • Reports to the General Manager

  • Have a desire to create great experiences for new and returning customers  

  • Take orders accurately with a positive attitude

  • Knowledge of the menu with the ability to make suggestions

  • Ensure tables are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any issues

  • Collect cash, card, or gift card payments

  • Ability to understand basic math and use a cash register

  • Responsible for keeping a cash stash to pull from in case of customer cash payments

  • Help kitchen staff when necessary

  • Provide excellent customer service throughout shift

  • Stay alert to new delivery orders on food delivery tablets

  • Perform high-quality work while unsupervised

  • Ability to handle confidential customer information

  • Greet customers and acknowledge them when they leave

  • Constant observance of what’s happening on the dining room floor, such as the arrival of new customers, dirty tables, spills, customers needing attention, etc.

  • Upsell when appropriate

  • Communicate with other servers, hosts, and kitchen staff effectively. Be a team player

  • Have critical thinking and quick problem-solving skills

  • Be an active listener and attentive to details

  • Ensure cleanliness of dining room floor and restrooms

  • Ability to stand and move around for a long period of time

  • Adhere to server uniform policy, including wearing no-slip shoes

  • Be on time and prepared to start shift

  • Willingness to work a double shift if needed

  • Be professional when handling incoming restaurant phone calls

  • Have a sense of urgency and able to work in a fast-past environment

  • Willingness to learn and operate POS 

  • Accurately record dining room reservations

  • Keep up with any specials, happenings, and events relating to Zweli’s Inc.
