Pronounced (sod-zuh)
It’s a whitish, doughy, cornmeal and water mixture that is thickened with heat and continuous stirring. It’s a staple in Zimbabwe.
Typically eaten with the hands to scoop up sauces, meaty stews, and veggies like our Dovi Collards.
Pairs greatly with our oxtails and is also served with the Beef & Collards Stew Ekhaya menu entrée.

Pronounced (chak-uh-la-ka)
It’s a curry-based, vegetable bean curry, comparable to baked beans. Has a sweet and moderately spicy flavor profile.

Pronounced (dough-vee).
Dovi translates to peanut/peanut butter. Peanuts are used in a lot of Zimbabwean dishes.
Our peanut butter spiced collards are creamy and savory.

Jollof has its origins in Senegal, which is more known to be a staple in west African countries. The tomato-based spiced rice has also made its way in Zimbabwe over the years. Ours is has a milder spice level.
